ONE SMALL BEER, THANKS
Performed at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2024
She’s Back - And She’s Learned The Electric Guitar!
Made famous (citation needed) by her critically-acclaimed run of hyper-niche musical comedy shows - e.g. Wool! A History Of Australia’s Wool Industry: The Musical and Scandal! A Reflection On The Essendon Doping Scandal: The Musical? - Kit Richards is back with One Small Beer, Thanks: a jukebox show of the best songs from a dozen more hyper-niche musicals.
Has she actually written any of the musicals? No. But in the words of Natasha Bedingfield, the best is still unwritten. One Small Beer, Thanks is the place to hear Kit Richards debut tracks like:
-‘Billionaire Chicken Heiress’ from her unwritten musical Ingham: A Drumstick Dynasty
-‘Mum Brought The Babyccino To Sydney’ from her unwritten musical Mum-oir: A Musical Mum-Themed Memoir
-‘Is There Real Estate In Heaven?’ from her unwritten (and Tony-winning, theoretically) show Boomer: The Musical

THE NICEST GUY IN COMEDY
Performed at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022 and Melbourne Fringe 2022
After a Green Room Award-nominated cabaret exploring Australia’s wool industry, and last year’s Moosehead Award-winning rock opera dissecting the Essendon drug scandal, you might think you know Kit Richards (writer: Hard Quiz, Get Krack!n). But the old Kit can’t come to the stage right now... Why? Oh – coz she’s dead. Who cares if this is her third show in a row (with no breaks) – this is Kit Richards’ comeback tour. Firmly in her Reputation Era, The Nicest Guy In Comedy is a salacious mixtape of f— you anthems taking aim at the haters, gatekeepers and self-appointed “nice guys” of comedy. Watch Kit Richards sink to their level in her most honest show yet, proving “an eye for an eye” is f**king awesome and definitely not toxic at all. This is a stadium tour packed into a small-ish, heritage-listed room (mind the crown molding when moshing). This is Thelma & Louise blasting ‘driver’s license’ as they speed off a cliff. This is ‘All Too Well (One Hour Version) (Yoko Ono’s Version)’. Kit Richards is... The Nicest Guy In Comedy.

SCANDAL! A REFLECTION ON ESSENDON’S DOPING SAGA: THE MUSICAL?
Performed at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2021. Recipient of the Moosehead 2020/2021.
In 2013 Essendon Football Club was rocked by one of the biggest doping scandals in AFL history.
Scandal! A Reflection on Essendon’s Doping Saga: The Musical? is a (slightly) biased look at what it means to be a diehard fan when your heroes fall from grace. Featuring all original music and a live band.
From the creator of award-nominated show Wool! A History of Australia’s Wool Industry: The Musical, this show will feature vignettes from ASADA to WADA, Hird to Robson and more.
'Entertaining and musically strong.' Chortle (UK)
Featuring Kit Richards, Elly Hewitt, Dom Buckham & Kelly Dingeldei.
Directed by Lucy Rees with script editing and dramaturgy by Scott Edgar.
Filmed at Stupid Old Studios, Melbourne

WOOL! A HISTORY OF AUSTRALIA’S WOOL INDUSTRY: THE MUSICAL
Performed at Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2019 and Melbourne Fringe 2018. Nominated for Best Cabaret Writing at the 2019 Green Room Awards
Behind every great sheep is a shearer. Behind every great shearer is a loving family great at admin. Behind every great family, there's a Governor intent on taking them down. The story of Australia's wool industry isn't as straightforward as it seems. But this isn't a story about the manufacture and production of wool and wool-based products. It's a story of sacrifice, hard work and love.
